Kate Quinn

American historical novelist, born in Southern California in 1981 and trained as a classical singer, with bachelor's and master's degrees in classical voice from Boston University. She began with the Empress of Rome quartet and a pair of Renaissance novels before turning to the twentieth century, where she found a wide readership: The Alice Network (2017), about a real First World War spy ring, The Huntress, The Rose Code, set at Bletchley Park, The Diamond Eye and The Briar Club (2024). Her novels are known for reconstructing the lives of real women from the archives.
